Animal activists saved dogs from a laboratory

Animal rights activists saved the dog shown on the right from a cellar where animals were held "in stock" to sell them to laboratories around Barcelona. The animals were in terrible stage and held under the worst possible circumstances, without food, water and in complete darkness. A TV crew accompanied the animal activists on their way into the cellar and recorded the rescue of over 20 dogs. Most of the animals were in such terrible conditions that the could not be saved. The dog on the picture was one of them. The dog dealers never got punished for the mistreating of the animals.
